Congratulations to Germany and Spain, as they achieved the last game of Euro 2008. A lot of peoples backing up the Germans to be the champions of the tournament before it begins but end up feeling lucky that their team can even pass Austria or Turkey to make it happen. While Spain in my opinion, is the most stable team throughout the tournaments. Their fans to be honest, is never be as optimistic as the Germans. Spain has the characteristic of dominating the pre-cup group, make a stunning performance in the beginning of the tournaments, then going home early. That was like a curse. Many of them still believes that the curse will continue after they are dominating the group D and then has to meet world champion Italy in quarter finals. In the end, both team pleased their fans by the achievement so far.

For the game itself, both team are facing injury problems. Spain will almost certain losing their goal machine, striker David Villa, and also David Silva, which is for me the best player in tournament, are rumoured to be injured as well. The Germans side also probably missing their leader, Michael Ballack, due to the same reason. If those player really miss the finals, both team will be playing differently than the previous match. Mentality speaking, the Germans greatness in their mental aspect and how much does it do to their performance has been very much overrated. I see it in every blogs, analysis, newspaper, prediction, you name it. They were a great team with a great winning mentality, but not this one, not this Joachim Loew team, they are too robotic, I can’t even see their feelings or player emotions. So how that is possible to labeled them as a team with a winning mentality? or at least more than Spain? For this tournament, I think the Turks who can have that label.

So what’s good about Germany? I should say their ‘luck’. The overhyped ‘winning mentality’ only put a fog in our analysis of every Germans game. Are you dare to say that Spain have a bad winning mentality? they win all of their games, I don’t care if their mental are worst than third world country team. Head to head, Spain all over the Germans in every line, from goalkeeper to striker. Spain perhaps losing David Villa, but that add more player in the midfield which already have advantages technically over Germany midfield player. I must add that Germany back lines are easy to penetrate, almost every team could score Jens Lehmann, even the Turks without Kahveci, so does Torres or any Spain midfield without Villa.
